A Reflection of Change

In partnership with  New City Properties offers space for 8 Atlanta Artists of color to include  visual narratives in response to the imagery on  the temporary plywood wall that separates the Atlanta BeltLine guests from the on going construction area across from businesses,  restaurants and residential living spaces.   A reimagined fence that respects the messages behind the original unsolicited art but focuses on joy and not grief.

The wall has become an open canvas for unknown artists and people of the community  to express their feelings about the experiences of injustice of BIPOC that we have witness over the years but most recently in 2020 and as of 2021. Breaking stereotypes,  awareness for inclusion and a continuous practice of love  and not hate.

A Reflection of Change , a curated mural activation keeps the integrity of the message behind work. This forward thinking project engages the community  bring light into these dark times. It is an artist's duty to reflect the times and encourage future generations. We are here not push trauma but to uplift and adorn images that represent who we are . Respectfully teach, love and celebrate life.   We will find peace in becoming the change we want to see in the world.

Hidden Truths

Hidden Truths a group exhibition opened in January 2021 at PeterStreets’ Hidden Gallery. 14 artists and 4 film makers were selected to share work that displays their hidden truths that expresses self discovery, unveiling a creative's transparency of shadow work and self revelations uprooted during 2020. the show proposed the question, How did you deal with your mental health? How do you define Shadow work?

Although many have thrived during this ongoing pandemic, it is important to focus on what helped us survive through the dark spaces that we find ourselves in at times. Topics covering soul care and healing, impostor syndrome, the journey of discovering how to forgive and hold ourselves accountable for our toxic behaviors. Instead running from these thoughts, the challenge is for artists to focus and explore conceptual art in various mediums that will create work that is impactful and truthful. Dig deep to uproot old habits , beliefs and old ideas. As we continue to retain our subconscious minds at a soul level, we learn to control our emotions and install new information through Art therapy. Art is meditation. Art is prayer.

Heavy Clouds

Highly anticipated solo exhibition, Heavy Clouds from visual artist, muralist and graphic designer C Flux Amòsún Singleton concluded on January 18th, 2020 at ArtsXchange’s Jack Sinclair Gallery.

Heavy Clouds, was Jack Sinclair Gallery's 9th exhibition under the curation of Courtney Brooks, highlights Sing's use of marker and acrylic paint, an amalgam of pastels and primary colors bordered by bold black lines that collectively tell the story of the Black struggle, unity, humor, beauty.
Known as C Flux Sing and a native from Laurelton, New York, Sing has made Atlanta his home for more than a decade.

The artist's goals are to showcase perspectives that connect to viewers emotionally, philosophically, logically and even illogically/abstract. Yet, the over arching goal is to inspire growth. He hopes to offer suggestions that help to look at life and experience from a variety of angles which may open up some possible positive options for us. The exhibition was free and open to all ages. Heavy foot trafficked and many media out sources came to view. Including AJC, My East Point News, 11 alive , Studio Noise Podcast and Visionary Arts Magazine.

Heavy Clouds deals with the powers of your mind and how perspective, imagination, environment, experience and education helps to create a person's reality. In contrast, it is also about how one's attitude and view of these happenings can help a person alter the reality they want to experience. Your mind is the ground work for manifesting. A place where imagination flourishes and people craft that in which they want and need to experience.
